So I get where people are coming from just based on Kie’s usual aversion to physical touch, but I also agree with you because we’ve never seen her have this aversion with JJ. We’ve only ever seen her react this way with JB and Pope.

I personally agree that they could have been a little more touchy, and I know that someone who was an extra on set said there were a couple takes where they did hold hands, they just didn’t use those.

Based on some of the BTS stuff I’ve seen/heard about regarding where Jiara stands with Kie’s parents so far, my personal hope is maybe they’re toning it down on purpose because her parents showed up? I can’t imagine they’re in great terms with them, even if they did show up to the ceremony!

Fully agreed that is such a wonderful theory. I definitely have suspicions of a scene like this! My two thoughts were:

1. Protective JJ worried about her getting sent away again (great minds!)

2. JJ feeling insecure having to confront her parents when he knows they hate him and they are presenting themselves as a couple for the first time


I think I’d prefer scenario 1, like exactly the way you described it, because it feels very true to JJ to be unwilling to even chance losing her again!
